In winter any excuse is good to organise an event and the best time is Christmas. San Mauro Pascoli celebrates with the traditional Christmas Concert at Villa Torlonia, Cesenatico prepares the Presepe delle Conserve (a crib in the ice-houses), an original setting for the most classic Christmas symbol. An even more spectacular crib, the Presepe della Marineria (Marine Crib), is prepared in the splendid setting of the Canal Port designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
Towards the end of winter, when spring is not too far away, Cesenatico organises Azzurro come il pesce, a great event to celebrate red meat fish. In Italian this type of fish is called "pesce azzurro" or “poor fish" and in this time of the year it is plentiful in the Adriatic sea.
