Gastronomic Appointments in Ferrara
Here are some of the most important gastronomic appointments for every taste.
May is the month of Mesola asparagi (from the end of April) and bruscandolo (hop's bud) in Berra, as well as the time for juicy strawberry in Lagosanto and Salama da Tai (Tai Salami) in Guarda.
June is the perfect month for Gorino's fish; mutton, porchetta (whole roasted pig) and Cento's tortellini and, finally, Pilastri salami in Bondeno.
In July, Cento hosts celebrations dedicated to pears, tortelloni and tortellini, traditional Salama da Sugo and snails. Bondeno is home to the festival of the"caplaz", that is cappellacci, as well as sea fish and sturgeon. Final of Rero hosts a fruit salad festival, Formignana the "salam da l'ai" festival, that is a garlic sausage festival (which takes place also in August), while clams can be enjoyed in Goro.
In Cento, August is the best month to taste snail, duck, "cotechino" and grilled salami; in San Carlo, in Coronella and in Pontelangorino it is possible to enjoy pumpkin and the renowned stuffed cappellacci.
Ro hosts a Poverty Festival, also called Poor Plates Festival, while the city of San Giuseppe di Comacchio celebrates vintage time and Bosco wine.
September in Sant'Agostino brings along with autumn the fragrance of Panfilia Woods truffle (from late August to November) while in Stellata it is the time to taste frogs and ducks, in Vigarano Pieve pears, in Madonna Boschi and Poggio Renatico the flavors of salamina da sugo and bondiola.
Eel is October's queen during the Comacchio's Festival, while in Bondeno it is the time for the celebration of bread and truffle.
In Ostellato, November is the month of Pumpkin Festival!
