The Charm of Cultural Tradition

By visiting the village of the "salt workers", it is possible to discover the charm of a city rebuilt brick by brick at the end of the XVII century.
Not to miss: the Salt Warehouses, nowadays exhibition and fair centers of major importance, the Salt Museum, the San Michele Tower, the Cathedral, the Town Hall and Garibaldi square, core of the historic downtown where prestigious events, small markets and concerts are hosted.
Particularly interesting is the City Theater, the Suffrage Church, with a wooden crucifix dating back to the XIV century and a Callido organ, the S. Antonio Church and Pisacane Square where the ancient Fish Market is located.
The Tappeto Sospeso (Suspended Carpet) fountain is particularly charming, a colorful mosaic planned by Tonino Guerra on occasion of the 300th anniversary of the foundation of New Cervia.

Truly unique is the MUSA, the Salt Museum with an outdoor section, and the Camillone salt mine.
Santo Stefano Parish Church is of special interest; it is located in Pisignano di Cervia and it dates back to the 977 AD.
The towns nearby Cervia are particularly active in the field of culture and very respectful of traditions. A rich event calendar ranges from literature to figurative art, from music to theater, up to philosophy and history.
