Town Hall

The Town Hall was ordered built by Pino degli Ordelaffi in 1306 and it has been altered several times. However, the arcade with ribbed vaults and the columns in spungone stone are still the originals. Inside the building, which today hosts the Town Hall, there are two important rooms. The main one is called "Room of the People" since in the past it was used by the city inhabitants to meet and deliberate and the second room is called "Room of the Paintings" because it contains six canvas dating back to the second half of the eighteenth century, painted by Antonio Zambianchi of Forlì. These paintings depict the most significant events of the city. The room is furnished and decorated with furniture and small bronzes by artist Ermete Novelli.

The Council Room where Bertinoro's political activity takes place, hosts the portraits of the bishops of Bertinoro descent. Shops and stores occupied the ground floor until the end of the nineteenth century.
Next to the Palace, the Civic Tower, once much higher than now, served as a lighthouse for sailors; it hosts a bell dating back to the year 1516, which was rung at the end of contests and to celebrate peace after war.
